About the Original
The green Unicum
As Ferrari delivered the 365 GT/4 BB with the serial number 379 in 1976, it was the only copy of the entire 365-familiy that was painted in a fine shade of green called ‘Verde Germoglio’. Ten years later, however, the owner no longer liked the color and decided that his Ferrari should shine in the typical red shade in future like the most Ferraris and had it repainted. A few years later the owner was annoyed with his Ferrari workshop about a very high bill and lost the interest in the Italian luxury brand so that he banished the car to a barn in frustration. All this happened quite spontaneously and by no means professionally, as it turned out 10 years later, when André Herklotz freed the car from its permanent sleep. Due to its long downtime, the engine required a complete overhaul as well as the car body.
In 2002, André Herklotz bought the still red 365 and restored it from the bottom up. It was not until 2008 that he became aware of the fact that his vehicle was the only copy once delivered in green color and the desire to repaint it in its original color arose. Finally in 2016 he commissioned the repainting of its unique Ferrari. Since then, the 365 Berlinatta with its 4.4-litre V12-cylinder engine shines as if it had just left the factory. Apropos, the type designation resulted from the displacement of a single cylinder, which had just exactly 365 cc.
