Manufactured ca. in the 1950ties, in color red with beige interieur, very nice painting with almost any signs of playing, overall in very good condition, back right minimally touched up in colour, all functions are tested and working perfect, later version with electric motor in metal housing, marked on the base plate with "Made in Western Germany" in blue letters, battery compartment without any dirt, all parts from the model are authentic to the year of production, with the usual crease for this model as well as a minor splinter on the upper edge of the windscreen, complete with hand steering wheel with steering shaft, wooden pylons and instruction manual as well as the original outer box which is also in very good condition. Extremely rare to find in this condition and completeness

The Schuco Elektro-Phänomenal 5503 Mercedes Benz 190SL Roadster first entered the Schuco range in 1955 and was only built until 1960. It has a battery-powered electric motor that can be operated via a gear lever on the steering wheel. The vertical position of the gear lever means "stop", to the right "forward drive" and to the left "reverse drive". The visible electric motor is housed in the boot and the battery receptacle is located under the bonnet, which must first be unlocked via a pull lever on the dashboard before opening. The model has not been reissued since it was discontinued in 1969.
