Model Description
Manufactured ca. in the 1960ties, in color red with red interieur, perfect painting without any signs of playing, overall in perfect and close to brand new condition, all functions are tested and working perfect, marked on the base plate "Made in Western Germany" in blue color, all parts from the model are authentic to the year of production, with hand steering wheel and steering shaft. The model is extremely difficult to find in this condition and completeness.

The Schuco Texi 5735 Alfa Romeo Giulia 1600 Spyder first entered the Schuco range in 1960 and was only built for four years up to and including 1964. It has a simple clockwork mechanism for fast forward travel, which is wound up using the winding key supplied. The direction of travel can be adjusted by means of a manual steering wheel and an associated remote steering shaft. A special feature is the automatic drive, where the driver steers the wheel like a real car driver and moves the arms back and forth, turning the head from right to left. The car alternates between making an "eight" when driving forwards and a circle when driving backwards. An automatic start and stop lever on the underside of the model does not let the car start until it makes contact with the driving surface. The adjustment between automatic and remote control driving is done by a lever at the back of the model. There was no reissue in the Schuco range after the discontinuation in 1964.
