Model Description
Manufactured pre-war ca. 1935, in color lightgrey, very nice painting with only some very small signs of playing, overall in very pretty and dreamlike condition, early and original Schuco version before the tools were sold to Gescha, version with wide front bumper with dipstick and lead weight at the rear of the vehicle, all functions are tested and working perfect, marked on the base plate "Made in Germany", all parts from the model are authentic to the year of production. Extremely rare to find in this condition.

Things to know about the Schuco Patent-Motor-Car
The Schuco Patent Motor Car is the first Schuco vehicle ever! It was only produced for a very short period from around 1935 by Schuco in Nuremberg exclusively for the English market and was only sold there. In contrast to later vehicle models from Schuco, this model does not yet have an item number and was simply called the "Patent Motor Car". It has a clockwork mechanism that drives a longitudinally mounted drive wheel. As soon as the vehicle drives over the edge of a table, it automatically turns to the left and thus does not fall down (so-called "turning function"). At the beginning of the Second World War, the moulds for this model were sold to the Gescha company, which continued to produce the model in a similar form and with Gescha markings on the base plate for a short period of time. The model was never mentioned in any Schuco brochure and only became known to the wider collector community through a publication in a British trade journal for antiquarian tin toys in 1985. It is probably the rarest Schuco model of all.
